Three weeks to deliver Christmas


Like many foods and household retailers, Morrisons also capitalise on commercial opportunities by adding seasonal and occasion-led products to the mix.

Morrison’s approached Synergy Retail Support seeking a rapid response solution to handle the logistics for their Christmas decorations range.

Within just 3 weeks we had every component in place to deliver the necessary assistance, with space reserved, staff assigned, carriers commissioned and the facilities and infrastructure in place to receive the company’s consignments.

Over the 3 weeks merchandising period 52 containers (approximately 30,000 cartons) were received, picked, packed, palletised and dispatched. In total 1,900 pallets were delivered to 450 stores on designated days, with every single delivery obtaining proof of delivery.

We then added value by handling the reverse logistics. Receiving around 9 trailer loads a day, we ensured that all products were tested, quality controlled, sorted and returned to stock, enabling the retailer process returned stock back to live inventory for next Christmas.
